I krote you some ten days ago, unofficially, to let you know how things were foring (or rather hot joining) up here. Since then the Legalnihan sent me at your request, certains Extracts hom the haber frem down, South in regard to to propcard Chunice Railion hom Canton to Anichos Ete via Whampon. The Legations has very frossen protested against this scheme as a trach of the Canton- Kosstoon agreement. Din to that as ! lold you, they had asked for the appointment of he sotiations to conclude the Kontoon & Hangchons concessions, but the trad. wup. in spite of definite promisis. makes no reples & the Legation (on account of the promcience psen to the Customs Control question / considers it mexperdunt to form the nater at present.
